For anyone looking for a shortcut to open the Style Editor without using the UI tab or Next Gen Ribbon, you can right-click on any Studio UI panel and select the Style Editor from the context menu. For example, right-click on the Explorer title bar or empty space in the Ribbon bar and you should see a menu like this that includes the Style Editor:
