Having a similar issue here. Playtesting a game in Studio causes it to crash in roughly up to 15 seconds. Tried playing regular games on PC and it also crashses in the same timeframe. Only started happening to me roughly 15 minutes ago.

Confirmed this. After maybe 10 seconds, when playtesting, it freezes and then crashes with no popup or anything.
To add on, this started happening to me like a few minutes ago.

having same issue here too, i discover that if you leave, or press the other stop playtest, the bigger one, youre safe, but rn im having another issue where i try to playtest, and literaly closes. what the hell roblox, fix your studio already

This bug makes development nearly impossible, I can’t work on anything without having studio soft-lock itself after bare minutes of terminating and re-opening the program. I have been using older version 0.664.0.6640713 for 4 days now, and haven’t experienced the issue so far, so if you are impacted by this, I recommend switching to the said version, I personally used Roblox Studio Mod Manager to install an older version. It’s just matter of time before Roblox automatically disables this version, so I hope engineers are working on a fix.

Can confirm this bug is still present on 0.668.0.6680659.
It doesn’t happen to me every single time, I would say there’s about a 1/5 chance of it happening. No matter if I click Stop Playtest or Shift + F5, it soft locks and I am unable to interact with anything. I can press Ctrl + S, the window will pop up but does not let me do anything. Only way of closing the window is to end the task.

Occurs on 0.668.497.6681324 as well, extremely prevalent and occurs at random instances (around 90% of the time), I haven’t been able to determine any reasons it occurs (beta’s seem to have no effect and whether the larger stop in the home tab or the smaller one is pressed also seemingly has no effect) (playtest duration, actions and intensity also doesn’t seem to have any noticeable patterns on if studio freezes or not) but I should be able to provide logs if I’m told how to.
My freezing seems to be where you cannot interact with any studio elements (ui) but the Windows close button does work and studio can log / register actions, just not any mouse or keyboard inputs into it… (except alt + f4 that one worked)
Weirdly, some people experience crashes during playtesting after short periods, while I only experience it when specifically attempting to stop the playtest.

@permanent_fixture it seems this bug report is what you are looking for investigation on recent crashes.
This is not solved and should be looked into further.
I just had this happen to me, I made a whole interior of a diner without saving and I was play testing to see it a quick decorative TV script worked. I hit “Run” and realized I forgot to anchor everything. (classic) I quickly pressed stop which is when this bug occurred, luckily I could still press ctrl + s to save it. that would have been devastating…

also experiencing this on Mac Ventura 13.3.1 Studio ver 0.668.0.6680659 - studio freezes when I attempt to stop the play test and I have to force quit and reopen. happening 25%-33% of playtests.

Help my roblox studio keeps on freezing after I finnish playtesting. It even happens when there is no lag and load on the computer, I have disabled all of my plugins, this problem happens even on a blank baseplate and this problem started like last week. When it freezes the game still makes autosaves and nothing responds. No button or keybind works and alt f4 dosent work. I have to use task manager to end the prosess and it usually uses 3gb in this frozen state.

For me this error happens more frequently while my cheap computer is studdering or having a big load on the cpu/ram/gpu or it could be any I dont know
For some reason when I reinstalled roblox studio it stopped for a like 4-5 playtests but it came back or its just how randomly it occours

Edit: do you see any difference doing run as administrator or booting the computer in safe mode?

I am also experiencing this bug. Whenever I play/test the game and stop, it freezes for a few seconds and shuts down. This shutdown also happens to whoever is in team create with you.
