Studio is being installed on C:\Program Files (x86)\Roblox\Versions\ when opened via https://www.roblox.com/develop?View=9

Reproduction Steps

Open a place directly via browser using the link described:
Failed to create key for elevation policy - #77 by rogeriodec_games

Expected Behavior

Studio should never be installed on C:\Program Files (x86)\Roblox\Versions\

Actual Behavior

As detailed:
Failed to create key for elevation policy - #77 by rogeriodec_games

Additional information

  1. I’m using the latest Chrome version, and it’s running with NO administrative privileges.
  2. If I open Studio using a direct link like https://www.roblox.com/home?editPlaceId=12345678, the problem is NOT happening (it will NOT install on C:\Program Files (x86)\Roblox\Versions).

I have the same issue where studio requires administrator permission to install. I can’t install it to my local user anymore.

This prevents me from opening .rbxl files without using the “Open” dialog. Additionally, when studio updates I need to check this box every single time:

Don’t do that.
This is exactly what I did, and it caused so much confusion that I had to completely remove my Roblox and set it all up again WITHOUT ADMINISTRATIVE PRIVILEGES.

It forced me to for an “update” and now I would need to uninstall it.

Studio keeps trying to install itself on C:\Program Files (x86)\Roblox\Versions\.
Sometimes when a new update comes, sometimes when triggered by the browser.
The only way I found to prevent this from happening again was to edit the properties of ALL users of the folder, PROHIBITING writing to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Roblox\ folder:
