is there an option to copy terrain, i remember one being in the terrain tools but i cant seem to find the solution, does anyone know where i can locate such?

I don’t think it was ever removed. Can you send a screenshot of what you see in the Editor?
Hm, maybe try to select certain part of the Terrain and press CTRL + C?

Well, if this was permanent, I’m sure Roblox would update their Docs.
Perhaps it’s some sort of Beta feature? You can try disabling it by:
- Going to the File menu of your game, which is located at the top left corner of your screen.
- Click on Beta Features, and search for something related to the Terrain.

Yup, this is currently a feature set change that is in beta. But also just for the clarification of those in this thread, copy/paste is now done via your standard shortcuts (CTRL/CMD + C and CTRL/CMD + V) while in the select mode. A duplicate action (CTRL/CMD + D) is also available.
