All I wanted to do was play the animation track on the object once and stop.
The object is not humanoid.
It never occurred to me that such a simple task would be impossible in Roblox.
On the server script, the animation goes into a loop and continues indefinitely ignoring all commands.
The animation is played on the client script, and then starts playing in the opposite direction! And it also ignores all commands.
If earlier all these tricks and glitches caused bewilderment, now only irritation.
This is absolutely facts! I am sick and disgusted with the current animation system as well. It has a maximum time length with the keyframes… it has so many limitations meanwhile games coded with the programming language C and C++ don’t have such limitations. This is why you see games like call of duty having absolutely incredible animations because they can just animate them however they like and while I’m sure it takes a lot of experience, they don’t have these ridiculous limitations that Roblox put on their own systems. I think some of Roblox systems physically are stuck in that 2006 era when it was first created to some degree they have never quite escaped it no matter how many updates they do to it to make it appear like it’s actually improved when really it isn’t. We want to see sophisticated map building and animating available on the actual platform without limitation(Not having to use programs like Blender outside of Roblox platform). Until then, some of their systems will remain stuck where it was 18 years ago when this platform was first created.
Apparently, Roblox does this on purpose, they are guided by some ancient computers and old mobile phones.
Therefore, it is incredibly difficult to create something worthwhile in Roblox, and many tasks are basically impossible.
This is just what I came across in the first six months of my acquaintance with Roblox.
1.There is no Roblox Occlusion Culling!
2.Roblox does not support third-party shaders.
3.The Roblox animation is terribly outdated and decorative, the engine does not calculate the actual position of the animated object, it is always in its initial state.
4.For some unknown reason, decals do not have the ability to adjust the position and size on the object, which is why the creation of bullet holes turns into a sophisticated fantasy.
5.PBR does not have a glow card.
6.The physics engine is so buggy that, in principle, it is also inoperable.

Also we’re getting occlusion culling in the next few weeks, was announced at rdc Occlusion Culling - #31 by TheCrypticRunner
For some reason, I can’t create a theme there. Apparently my opinion is not interesting enough for Roblox.
Occlusion culling this is of course a huge step right from 2005 to 2024.
