Tips and tricks for the Discourse forum - sharing is caring

This thread is meant to be a compilation of tips and tricks that all of us have discovered throughout our usage of the new Discourse forums. Post some neat tricks you have discovered and ask if there are any tricks for problems you’ve encountered with the forums.

My contribution:
Discourse won’t let you post empty posts, and since quotes don’t count as characters for your post, if you try to post purely quotes (i.e. answering a question with something someone already said) it won’t let you post. This is a tad bit annoying, but you can add empty bold tags or whatever anywhere outside the quotes and it will let you post your quote-only post.

Are there any tricks for:
Having the “x new or updated topics. Click to show.” automatically showing posts instead of requiring you to click it?

It’s not possible to my knowledge to space out new lines (currently Discourse ignores empty new lines, and this can lead to posts getting pretty cramped i.e. -quote- -reply- -quote- -reply- all mushed together) – is there a way to bypass this to make posts easier to read? (currently I’ve been putting single periods on the empty lines, but this is kind of ugly)

Tip: If you want to reply to a long thread but don’t want to scroll down, you can just hit the reply button on the original post, it’s the same as hitting the reply button at the button.

Better yet, just hit the button in the bottom right and then hit bottom. It makes more sense that way.

You can also hit the ‘End’ button on your keyboard to go to the end of a thread (and ‘Home’ to go to the first post).

Want to make the forum easier to read?

(The version I use) Use this CSS with the Stylish chrome extension: DevForum Upgraded CSS - Pastebin.com

Extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stylish/fjnbnpbmkenffdnngjfgmeleoegfcffe?utm_source=gmail

(Original version) Main thread: RBXDev-like Theme

Mainly at @EchoReaper, but may be useful for others.

Instead of the . thing to add spacing, just add a br tag to force a line break so you don’t need the full stop:

Test <br> Test

Test

Test

Just noticed you used it again in another post and figured I’d post it here instead of there.
