Is this just a paid service now? It’s making me pay for stuff.
It’s only paid if you want them to host it for you on their Tovy Cloud platform.
You can get the software for free on GitHub and deploy it onto your own servers without having to pay any money to Tovy. (See “Guides” link in the original post)

Tovy cloud free
We’ve just launched our free hosted solution!
Before you try it out here are a few things you should note
- We make money for this from ad revenue & such (we wont force u to turn off ur ad blocker but less ad blockers = more chance we’ll survive
- This is a beta product, we had to modify it a bit
- Updates will be slower than up stream Tovy
- This is around an ~80 day trial to see if its sustaining enough to make Tovy free
- Tovy cloud (our paid option is still more stable
