TRC Ministries Now a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit

To The Robloxian Christians congregation and to the greater Roblox community —

I am pleased to share that The Robloxian Christians has formally incorporated as a non-profit organization titled “TRC Ministries” in Washington State and has been deemed a public charity by the Internal Revenue Service under code 501[c][3].

What is TRC Ministries?
Under this new legal structure, TRC Ministries will be something of a parent to The Robloxian Christians group on Roblox. TRC Ministries has a board of directors made up of five individuals that will make financial and organizational decisions for the organization. Each director has ties to TRC or online ministry and will be helpful as the organization look towards the future.

TRC Ministries will oversee the operation of The Robloxian Christians Roblox and Discord ministry, while also allowing new programs to be established.

What does this new non-profit status mean?
To put it simply, this new designation means that TRC ministries is exempt from paying federal income tax. In addition, any gifts given to the organization are tax deductible. These are a lot of big words, but this is what being a non-profit allows TRC Ministries to do:

  • Accept tax-deductible donations from individuals. This means that people can donate to support TRC Ministries and decrease the amount that they pay in federal taxes since TRC Ministries is a public charity.

  • Apply for and accept grants. This means that TRC can apply for and receive funding from other organizations to accomplish a mission or project. For example, TRC Ministries may apply for a grant to allow for its leaders to meet together for a leadership retreat.

  • TRC Ministries must file an annual report. As a non-profit organization in Washington State, the organization must report to the Secretary of State as well as the Internal Revenue Service each year reporting its financial state. These reports are public and can be viewed online.

Closing Note:
Gaining 501[c][3] non-profit status is a big deal, especially for The Robloxian Christians. The church started out nine years ago as a small group of friends playing together online. Today is is an online church that has become a cornerstone in the Roblox social sphere with nearly 30,000 members representing 80+ nations. The work that the TRC team is doing on Roblox is changing lives and shifting the Christian church as a whole.

Becoming a non-profit, holds us to a higher standard of financial responsibility and transparency. As we look towards the future, it is my sincere hope that our mission to share the love and word of God with all people will remain at the forefront.

Blessings in Christ,
