Are there any plans for the water material to be extended to parts instead of exclusively terrain? Right now its nigh impossible to fill smaller volumes like buckets and fountains with equally convincing water (i say “nigh impossible” because i’m sure there’s some way you could hack together something similar with the glass material and mesh deformation, but that’s ridiculous when a great water material already exists).

Why is the water missing? I was looking for customizable water textures but the terrain type is flat out missing.

Would be cool if it got added later on.

Not only that, we could greatly benefit from using the screen spaced reflections and refractions that water has for parts. We could apply them to custom normal maps that will greatly benefit custom water, ice, glass variants and much more.

I have been dealing with this bug since yesterday afternoon. Whenever I click on “Import” in the material editor, I receive this error.

The only work around I found was to import the images view asset manager, make them into decals, and copy the ID’s one by one. Obviously, this isn’t very efficient and slows down my work quite a lot. Could anyway tell me if it’s something I’m doing wrong, or an actual bug?

  1. At the moment you click Import button
  2. After you’ve selected an image
  3. After you’ve clicked Save button
    That would help us to reproduce faster, thank you!

After I’ve selected the image, it displays an error and shows loading dots on the material image.

quick question would there be some sort of public materials where people can upload there own custom materials to the toolbox?

Thank you very much, just to keep you updated - we’ll work on that! Meanwhile, please, check that your images don’t exceed 29Mb size and if you see this repeated anyway - try deleting tempIds from explorer if they didn’t upload correctly to the assetIds.

I’m not sure if this is a problem on my end, but it seems the link for the IDs of the old built-in textures is dead. Does anyone have access to those asset IDs?

The material variants are a great addition.

  • If it isn’t already on your todo list, would you please consider applying the MaterialVariant along with the Material when creating CSG models from Parts with MaterialVariant?

Currently, only the default material (from the component Parts) gets assigned to a CSG model; the MaterialVariant is not applied automatically and needs to be manually set for every new union.
