Roblox Studio Lag after Upgrading to Windows 11

Hello, World!

Recently, I did a fresh install of Windows 11. (To be precise, I upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11).

While I was on Windows 10, studio worked like a charm, Editor Quality Level was set to 21, and graphics were at max in general and it worked flawlessly.

HOWEVER, ever since I upgraded, it seems that it started to be on the Life Support, cause God forbid if you move a model, or camera, it will lag like there’s no tomorrow.

I did upgrade my GPU drivers, And RAM… Well…

Thing that I don’t understand is why is it doing this on a newer software? And does anyone know how to fix it?
(No, Reinstalling Studio did not fix it.)

My specs are:
ASRock Challenger RX6600
AMD Ryzen 5 5500
Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 3600mhz (Probably was a little too specific with these but yeah).

If worth mentioning, I stress tested my gpu with AMD’s Adrenalin Software, and Played Roblox itself on Highest Graphics and it was working fine.

it seems windows 11 isn’t very good for anything, might as well upgrade back to windows 10 to spare yourself from the lag

God damn it… Right when it should’ve been the different… Is there really no other solutions?

I know this isn’t a perfect 100% solution but I found a few small fixes that my help people in future.

I downloaded this update that Windows was recommending me. Not sure if it helps really, but in my case it sorta did (and it’s somewhat smart to update it)

  1. I Factory Reset my GPU Drivers. If you’re using AMD you can easily factory reset them by installing Adrenalin Installer and checking the Factory Reset option.

  2. “Focusing on Studio”, now this one is kind of messier to describe, but I noticed that getting into a Play Test in studio, and interact with game (Like Proximity prompts, for me I was driving a car) and then leave that it doesn’t make moving around all choppy and laggy in edit mode.

This may not help fully, but hopefully will at least make the situation a bit better! :blue_heart:

I edited the post title so someone with a specific problem like this can find it easier on google or whatever search engine they’re using.

ANOTHER EDIT:
I noticed that Windows 11 notifications (ones from specific chatting platform for gamers) are lagging the studio as well. Try disabling them too, you’re probably on DND anyway.

I’m also having the same issue but with Studio freezing entire Windows

If you’re having less than a 8GB of ram that may be the issue, check the ram usage in task manager, and if it’s using a lot of it, then you should upgrade your ram. Sorry for a bad response but I can’t help without more info :frowning:

You can always switch over to Linux, and use software like wine or sober. I am transitioning to Linux right now. And It looks like the performance is better then both windows 10 and windows 11. You will save a lot of your memory and SSD using Linux(IMO). You can test which distro you would like to use via research and using a virtual machine.

This was meant to be a joke, but I don’t wanna hurt anyone so I deleted it, sorry.
