Thank you for this, the marketing fee’s were outrageous and unnecessary, this makes stuff accessable to us developers.
P.S:
We need to make this happen.

Though I don’t have it, I still do think this is unfair for people with lifetime premium. A huge reason it was bought was to remove the 90% tax, and now the people who didn’t pay for it receive that benefit along with the people who did pay for it.
Well, that works, but again, not for people with a lifetime subscription.
Woah thanks this helpful How I want to
This is awesome news! This really opens up new avenues, and can motivate people to contribute to RBXDev.
This is amazing.
Thank you Roblox, thank you so much!!
Thank you!
This will definitely help me a lot.
I’d like to speak with whoever is coming up with all these amazing updates - they just keep coming!
Bravo!
This probably won’t happen.
Roblox is a company. The point of a company is to profit.
With non-Premium DevEx, Roblox’s expenses due to DevEx would rise waaayyyyy higher, possibly even outweighing their income.
I was just wondering, maybe this ties to the premium payouts thing. What if they are trying to make it so Premium benefits are almost exclusively in game and offer little to no rewards on the Roblox site
Not really, that’s a negligible cost. If a developer constantly has Premium (5$/mo) and constantly cashes out at lowest possible amount (350$/mo), then that’s only a 1.4% extra cost (not taking into account payment fees) if the developer would not have premium. That percentage gets even lower for people who cash out more than 350$ x 12 a year.
It is more likely that the Premium requirement is in place so that it reduces the amount of gaming / botting / other kinds of abuse that people would otherwise try to do w.r.t. DevEx submissions, and to keep overall request volume a bit lower.
That is great news! I wonder if they would also consider reducing the minimum amount required to DevEx, because there are a LOT of developers out there that can´t easily get to the R$100.000 mark, but may be in a moment of need to withdraw a smaller amount.
What are you talking about? non premium users will gain a new whopping 60% on everything they’re going to sell.
This is great! I’ve always been holding back from purchasing Premium because I wanted to save my money until my game is complete. Now I don’t have to! Thanks Roblox!
5%? This is not a great idea since it’ll destroy Roblox financially, It should be something like 20% or 25% 5% less makes a difference.
Because I believe that’s money that they give to developers from them (correct my if I’m wrong), I don’t think they’ll ever make DevEx non-premium. Premium is one of the main paid resources on roblox, and thus its one of they’re main sources of platform-based income. (Again, all a guess, correct me if I’m wrong)
That wouldn’t be possible assuming they’re following this kind of format:
A user buys Robux, say 800 Robux for 10 dollars.
20 percent of that 10 dollars goes to a “DevEx Bank” (which would be 2 dollars),
and rest goes to the company.
Now the user spends 800 Robux on a game pass in one of his favorite games,
and there is a 30% marketplace fee, so the Robux the developer receives is 560.
Now let’s say you were able to DevEx amounts smaller than 100,000 Robux, which isn’t possible but let’s just say it is, the developer exchanges the 560 Robux for USD.
The amount the developer receives in USD from the Robux is 1.96 dollars, which would be the amount that was sent to the “DevEx Bank” earlier when the user bought the Robux but 4 cents less.
The additional 4 cents that are leftover from the DevEx would be used for reserves.
This would mean that every Robux purchased the money from the purchase would be able to be used for DevEx, which means as long as the conversion rate isn’t too high, there would always be funds to use for DevEx.
I think people who bought lifetime got alot and I mean alot more worth than what they paid for. Wasnt life time obc equivalent to only paying 3~ years or so? They still get monthly robux and all the other benefits for it with only a one time payment. I don’t think lifetime users are necessarily being scammed here or anything.
I’m so happy that you guys decided to lower the fee, now developers who are low on money can have a more successful career. This is a big step up from last week’s moderation update. Keep up the good work, Roblox!
Woah, this is definitely a change I’m sure all Devs will welcome with open arms!
Thank you ROBLOX! It’s steps like these that will make more users inspired to try and take on development as a potential career.
I hope to see more changes like this in the future!
They wouldn’t make money off of DevEx for non-premium.
The premium is what keeps it stable for Roblox.
