Upcoming Launches for Avatar Creators

This is very exciting, any news on hand-held/holdables, or custom 2d faces though? will any of these categories eventually come to UGC as well? atleast the hand-helds because there will be no replacement for those once new layered clothing rules come out

While Iā€™m glad general UGC prices are going down, I keep bankrupting myself publishing Limited items. The cost-per-unit feels unsustainable for newer avatar creators.

I think UGC creators love this upcoming update lol

Any chance that other categories like handhelds and 2D (classic, non-dynamic) faces could be added too?

The new changes to layered clothing validation means that handhelds cannot be uploaded anymore as they do not pass the LC validation, and the ability to upload decals as faces would save having to make several recolored facemasks for different skintones (and thus also save a lot on publishing/upload fees)

THESE UPDATES ARE GREAT! Thanks a lot Roblox!!!

A question:

Will PBR support alpha? As a hair creator iā€™d really love to make officially supported alpha hairs

This is a huge update for UGC creators like myself, canā€™t wait to able to utilize PBR on future content. This is a really good update! Thank you Roblox!

I know classic clothing is a thing you guys want to move on from, but its still widely used on the platform, it would be amazing if PBR was made available for classic clothes on R15 rigs (to not hurt the aesthethic a lot of R6 games go for)

Iā€™m honestly really excited for these features! Also, Iā€™m really happy to see favorites being used more (Considering to view them wasnā€™t the most User Friendly experience)

With Posting Avatars and the In-Game highlights, this should really help make profiles a lot more livingly than they are now.

Canā€™t wait for these updates to release! :happy3:

Now you guys just gotta lower the per-stock price for free UGC accessories!

Very excited about the upcoming support for PBR and improved features for favorites and try-on!

Do you have any updates on the following topics that were mentioned in previous AMAs? Not expecting a full timeline, but would love to hear what the current perspective is on these features:

  • Support for Particle-emitting UGC
  • Support for holdable/hand-held accessories & how Gears could be translated to such an accessory type

This is amazing; so many great features and it really seems community feedback has been taken in and listened to!

This is awesome!
Though, can we also get an update on modesty layers?

Thereā€™s currently a lot of body types on Roblox that technically donā€™t need modesty layers but still have them.

There are also body types which were build for the classic clothing (texture on body) but a lot of those bodies also have modesty layers on them and it just looks super ugly when you cannot wear classic clothing on a body that supports it because of a big black area around the hips.

Iā€™d also love to see PBR support for classic clothing, thereā€™s a pretty big chunk of people who still like the more classic Roblox avatar style but getting access to PBR would be amazing for more customization and expression.

I assume PBR wonā€™t be enabled for R6 so it would be best to make them for R15 for future-proofing. R6-to-R15 is still in the works on the roadmap but itā€™s paused.

Allow creators to sell the same bundle with multiple different colors rather than just make it compatible with skin tones*

What is the Status on higher quality textures on ugc items? Also, which pbr features can we expect? Are we able to use transparency values too? Because transparency would really help for creating strands of hairs for textures! Though, increasing the tri limit alongside the bigger texture maps would help tooā€¦

Question will we be able to also try on accessories of the same type? (Example 2 face accessories, 3 hair accessories, etc) on mobile devices?

Excellent change! especially for the PBR, I canā€™t wait! :happy3: :happy3:

Pausing all of my UGC efforts until mid-year lol. I am not about to try to squeeze a tail into a skirt just so it has PBR textures, or to lose out on the advertising space in my group.

The publishing advances are basically useless the only items that recoup money these days are knockoff items or ones that magically hit the algorithm. Even advertising doesnā€™t work at all, Iā€™ve done ads and not one sale and if I did, was 1-2 out of thousands in ads waste of money and any sales you ever do get never make your money back. Even when your items are really decent and good. I have had items that randomly exploded and then completely fell off, makes me feel like all my ad spend is advertised to bots and I only get sales when itā€™s really shown in the algorithm organically.

Advances should be completely removed itā€™s not fair for us to have to pay 750 to upload then pay thousands more just to not make money on that item for a few years because sales are slow and the marketplace is filled with knockoff Roblox items.

Any word on removing the equippable item-type limitation without the need for ā€˜Advancedā€™ or web extensions (i.e. 3 hats are wearable, but only 1 of each other item-type is wearable)?
Some example use cases may be to stack different hairstyles, wear face masks and glasses at the same time, choose different tie and collar combos, have different shoulder accessories for each shoulder, etc. I donā€™t really see the need for it when the 20 total item limit already exists.
