Urgent question for viewportframes

Is it possible to show the whole workspace in a viewportframe WITHOUT cloning every single thing in that workspace and parenting it to the viewport frame?

No , you can’t as far as I know. It needs to be parented to the viewport frame or put in a world model inside of the viewport frame.

Oh ok thank you for informing me about that

Unfortunately, I don’t think there is as viewport frames can obly show what’s inside of them. However, if you are looking to make a minimap, there are other methods to get a high quality image without scraficing performance.

There is this documentation from roblox:
Minimap Tutorial

I also found this Dev Forum post for a couple years ago:
Plum’s Minimap

I think there is also an application which games such as jailbreak use to generate an image to use as a minimap; however, I’m unsure as to what it is.

Hope this helps

No problem.

Maybe in the future Roblox will add a feature to make that happen.

Yeah already saw some feature requests about that
