Voice acting in a Roblox game

You could put hours of voice acting into a game if you wanted—it’s really just a matter of how much audio you’re willing to upload and how much sound triggering you want to be doing.

I am willing to put the time to get the voice acting it’s just the matter if it’s even possible and if so is it pricey/time-consuming to do

Definitely possible. It’s more cost-effective to combine a lot of lines into one uploaded audio and setting the TimePosition of each line when calling them from the main sound object. Obviously you’d need a lot of uploads if you want as many lines as you seem to suggest, but there are no real technical limitations when it comes to implementing voice lines into a game.

So it’s possible to do just no one’s bothered to do it yet

Doing games that feature voice acting extensively? There are definitely lots of games that have utilized voice acting to a fair extent in the past (Quantum Clash, Deathrun, ROSES, Circus Trip, etc.) so I’m assuming you’re talking about scale. Voice acting can definitely be expensive and that’s likely the main thing keeping developers from using it more.

It is certainly possible to include any amount of voice acting into a game as you so please, though there are drawbacks. Those drawbacks include the amount of audio triggering required and the cost of uploading each audio.

I also don’t understand where you get the notion that Voice Acting in games isn’t widespread, Q-Clash, Alone, ROSES, Circus Trip, and to some extent Vesteria have all used voice acting in their games.

To implement hours of voice acting though probably is not worth it, and it is clear why developers don’t use it. To upload just 3 hours of audio is at minimum 9,000 robux; if that doesn’t steer a developer away, I don’t know what would.

Price is not the problem for me it’s if it can be done with a very long amount of time.

Nothing mandates when you can or can not upload audio so you can spread it out over as long or as short a time period as you’d like to.

If you wanted to upload 3 audios in a month, you can do that, or if you wanted to upload 40 audios in a day, you could do that, it’s just all dependent on the money you have which you say is not an issue.

Final question if I were to hire someone that would have to do as much scripting as Pokemon Brick Bronze and lot’s of voice acting within the game how much would I go on paying them?

That is a very subjective question, but for scripting as much as Brick Bronze had, you’d need to pay them WELLL over 1,000,000 robux in my own opinion.

And what about in terms of USD?

The equivalent of it; $3,500 USD.

Thank you so much for the advice I was able to make this

You can also upload a single audio and split it up by timeposition. I think this used be cheaper than uploading several audio files. I don’t know if it still is.
