You should have taken advantage of HotSwap! I used it a while back to make something similar which lets me have plugins for places (published with the game, so works for either local files or cloud-published) or plugins for all places that are shown in the explorer so I can edit/update them with ease. I write the scripts as if they were a plugin and then HotSwap loads them as plugins:

A very, very large FPS map. Work in progress; still gotta add roads, settlements, vegetation, grass etc… and more terrain sculpting to fit these once they’re added.

Roughly 37 square miles if we convert it to real measurements.
