I know that we aren’t owed everything on the roadmap, I was pointing out a pattern that happened in the past two years which is that by the end of the year all Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 are released but then Quarter 3 and Quarter 4 are delayed until next year or are delayed even further (a good example of this is universe scripts which were planned for Q4 of 2018 but were postponed to Q4 of 2019 and then postponed again).
I don’t think it is too big of a deal but I do agree that they should probably be more careful that they don’t put ambitious dates down. It does lead to a bit of disappointment but I am more glad to know that they are coming eventually anyway.
Can’t wait for mesh deformation!
Script Collaboration is also live
Cant wait for 2020! Lets see what there is to offer!
Ok it’s officially 2020 now, can we get a new roadmap?
Considering that the 2019 one was posted in April, I wouldn’t get your hopes up for this year’s to be posted before then.
Add procedurally generated smoke particles to the list of future updates
The current implementation of smoke particles feels a little obsolete and not many games use it at all - if the smoke particles could calculate their trajectory (taking into account for collisions) and readjust its path, that would look super amazing and I could imagine that a lot of games would start using smoke particles. I doubt that there would be any performance issues if each particle only had to calculate its trajectory once (at its initial point). If there are moving parts that go through the particle as it moves, it shouldn’t really matter because it would still look realistic.
Im excited for the new way of making money that they talked about in RDC when they said they would implement some way to earn money based off of playing time
Happy New Years! Discussion on this topic is no longer necessary, as it is about the roadmap of 2019.
