Hi, I’m BestSpyBoy (bsb.dev). I created rotheme because I hated the default Roblox theme and thought there had to be a modern, regularly updated theming editor specially for Roblox - but everything I found was outdated/broken, or required advanced CSS knowledge to change themes.
With rotheme, you can use one of the many curated color themes included with the extension, create your own theme, or browse and download one of the many themes on the marketplace.
Frequently asked questions
Can't i just use Stylus/userthemes?
rotheme has many features which require significant changes to Roblox’s DOM, or scripting. You can use a usertheme but it won’t have the same benefits like regular updates or easy settings.
Will there be (feature)?
Yes! There’s already custom image backgrounds, hiding/showing sections and a full theming marketplace! If you have an idea, please reply to this thread with a feature request or join our Discord.
Is this malware? Will this steal my account?
Check the source with a CRX viewer - nothing’s obfuscated. Additionally, we’ve undergone manual checks from Chrome, Firefox and Edge.
The plugin looks really nice. I can definitely see that you have put a lot of work into it.
Personally I’m not sure if I’m going to be using it. But that’s mainly due to me being okay with the built-in theme (dark mode) on Roblox.
You’re not quite the first one to make such an extension, though, like you stated yourself too. Is the goal to be a simpler, easy-to-use version of the already existing alternatives?
I also want to note that I’m not a big fan of fully uncapitalized writing. Consider slightly improving that grammar, as to show as much professionalism in your writing as in your product itself.
Btw I’ve seen your portfolio, and it’s a nice creative little page of your own. Good work.
maintaining proper grammar and punctuation does sound more professional, but i doubt it would deter anyone from using a resource that’s been presented well.
i agree with everything @AlexanderLindholt said; it looks nice, but i probably won’t use it myself.
my main idea when creating rotheme was to try and refresh the look of the roblox website - its age is showing in certain areas of the website still, and i wanted to make it look like the creator hub. it was originally a css file for personal use; that’s probably reflected in its simplicity
pretty much everything theming-related on the chrome webstore was outdated as well
usually my “brand guideline” for myself is to keep a stylised form of typing, but i appreciate the feedback - have edited this post to be a little more conventional!
Isn’t it mostly just colors? When looking at some of the screenshots you posted, it doesn’t look even remotely close to the creator hub. Have I misunderstood something?
its mainly the HCo Gotham SSM font and rounded borders. i did use all the Creator Hub color scheme to create the Obsidian theme, which was originally the only theme (aka my personal theme)
edit: i didnt want to substantially change the page layout, things like rokitty are doing a full refresh
