[PSGA] Grouped Skills and "More Skills" Menu

Hi PSGA!

We’re about to release a highly requested update that makes for a much easier and more mobile-friendly way of putting routines together, and I just wanted to give a quick little breakdown on it to avoid any confusion there may be.

As you all know, there are only 3 toolbar slots for phone users, which makes it incredibly hard to make full routines and some have to resort to backpacking which isn’t always that effective. So to fix this problem, we put all the skills into a total of 18 groups (not including exercises, stretches, dance elements, and kicks, a new group).

  • 1 group of Vault skills
  • 6 groups for Bars skills (mounts, dismounts, releases, transitions, giants, regular skills)
  • 3 groups for Beam skills (mounts, dismounts, regular skills)
  • 3 groups for Floor skills (front tumbling, back tumbling, basic skills)
There is also a group that has a mix of basic skills you can use on the floor or beam

“More Skills” menu

In addition to that, we have these skills grouped in the backpack, which can also be found in the “More Skills” menu on the right-hand side of the screen:

  • Turns
  • Leaps
  • Jumps
  • Dance Segments

With this new system, mobile users should be able to easily make routines for any event by dragging the 3 groups they will need into their toolbar, and any dance-related skills (turns, leaps, jumps, segments), as well as both ‘Salutes’, are in a menu on the right-hand side of the screen for easier accessibility, which may be found easier than backpacking. But the reason we have them in the backpack and in the menu is so users can decide for themselves which option is less complicated.

Bars

We do recognize that there are 6 groups for Bars instead of 3, but up until a player reaches Optional Level (6-10) they will only need to use 3 of the groups (mounts, dismounts, and basic bar skills), but in terms of roleplay and performing optional level routines, they will need to backpack. We felt it was necessary to have bars skills broken into more categories to help with distinction.

There are a total of 22 tools in the backpack now, a significant difference from the 100+ skills you had to search through in the backpack. I believe we’ve designed a pretty cool system here that will make everyone happy!

This will be put into effect with the next upcoming update.
