2 Blender Questions for GFX

Hey there,

So I have 2 questions for doing gfx in blender and hopefully, they can be answered in one thread.

So basically, when I insert my obj, it loads so far away from the workspace, and sometimes I can’t even see it. How can I make it spawn on the grid in front of me?

The second question is, how do I increase the “lines” so when I bend my render it bends correctly and not just the lower half if you know what I mean. I have 0 knowledge in blender and just learned from a tutorial yesterday how to do gfx, so if you could be as detailed as possible it’ll be much appreciated.

I’m not much in blender either, but if you mean subdivision by adding lines then here may be a useful link.

thanks for the reply yet i dont think thats it

  1. Make sure that you’re inserting the model on the middle of the baseplate on Roblox. When exporting into an .obj file, it also saves position in the world.
  2. You would have to rig the model but since I don’t do GFX often and when I do, I usually do everything in studio (including posing the NPC in an animation editor), I only work on the lighting in Blender.
I don’t know how to do it so you’d have to google that one.

I hope that those are the answers you’re looking for and good luck!

Regarding the second question, to have more lines within the arm itself so that it bends properly you need to first select the object into edit mode.

Then you need to locate the “Transform Tab” in the top left corner. From there you need to scroll down to where it says “Subdivide”. You can click that button as many times as needed, but I recommend 2-3 only.

Once that is complete, you just need to scroll down a little bit more to find the “Remove Doubles” button. Click the button once to remove bugs later on.

Now you just need to rotate as you wish, everything should be complete! :slightly_smiling_face:

Good luck with your GFX!

To fix your problem about you obj not being loaded in view of your workspace is fairly quite simple.
All you have to do is this.

  1. Open you grid view
    Capture%20101

  2. Then put whatever object you are trying to export from Roblox studio where the arrows are on the baseplate

Once you have done that you shouldn’t have that problem of you objects being far away from your workspace

Hopefully, this helped you with your question

Much appreciated. Am I asking too much if you guys could tell me a place where I can put text, and fx so its not only the rig besides photoshop? i dont crack.

You could use Paint.net to make text and effects. And a plugin you can use as well, PSD Plugin,Object Align
