I can't get studio to recognize my PS4 Controller

I can’t get studio to recognize my PS4 Controller.
I used UserInputService to detect the controller but it says false ,
and When I use the controller in a normal ROBLOX game it works just not in studio when play testing.

The only thing that comes to mind is that the DualShock 4 controller is a legacy DirectInput controller and that Roblox Studio might only support XInput (implying the player may still support both side-by-side). You may have to use a tool like Steam Input in order to get it to work.

You have to use the DS4 windows app to connect the ps4 controller as an xbox controller because roblox doesn’t support ps4 controllers unless you use bluetooth

Used Bluetooth with DS4Winodws app nothing changed, any Idea how i could fix it?

With ds4windows app youre supposed to use a usb cable, well thats what I do anyway

+1 on this. I’ve had the same issue and it’s been only quite recently that this is happening. I remember being able to use my PS4 controller fine in the past. on Studio, so I’m curious as to what is causing this issue. Hopefully it can be fixed.

EDIT:

So I just tested this with my Xbox Series X controller, and the same exact thing happens when trying to use Studio. Restarting Studio doesn’t help whatsoever. The confusing part is that it works perfectly fine when playing an experience in the Roblox Player App. Can someone else here test to see whether their controllers work in studio and maybe tell us what operating system you’re using? I’m thinking perhaps this is a Mac specific issue.

I’m using Windows 11, is there a problem too?

I have a mac only, so I wouldn’t know. But since you say you have the same problem on Windows, I’m inclined to believe this is a universal issue. No one else to my knowledge though has complained about having this issue, which is strange.

This issue probably won’t even be looked at until someone posts it in Bug-reports.

Just buy an Xbox controller, trust me this will save u a lot of time and pain of having to use a third party app. IMO

I’ve already tried using my Xbox Series X controller, and I had the same issue. It’s exclusive to studio. Using PS4 controllers works in games just fine.

Just for the sake of curiosity, would you mind testing your controllers in Studio, and telling us if it works for you?

I use my Xbox nacon controller every time I test and play Roblox. Knock on wood, but I never have controller issues with my Xbox controller. I tried the PlayStation controller with the windows app and it was awe full. Because the connection would always disconnect.

I think the RbxStudio does not recognize DS4

I have a Xbox controller that has the same stuffs like a PS4 (R1, R2, L1 and L2 instead of RB, RT, LB and LT). But instead of button delta, button square, etc, it’s replaced with xbox buttons. Is there a way fix it or it’s not possible?

I once accidentally connected my ps3 controller with scp toolkit and the controls worked while playtesting.
you might wanna use scp toolkit

I never have issues with my Xbox controllers in studio. But when I tried a ps4 controller with the ds4 my ps4 controller connection was very unstable.

Having the same issue here, I’m using a dualSense controller connected with bluetooth (windows 11). I also tried with cable and it didn’t work…
