2D Sonic Platformer Collisions

I am trying to recreate Green Hill Zone from the Genesis version of Sonic 1 in 3D.


However, I’ve realised that there may be one slight setback: recreating the collisions. Whilst playing Sonic 1, you could jump in order to reach this one large tile with the ring monitor. Unfortunately, I am stumped as to what to do .

I have made it so that the collision is turned off every time the player touches the tile but I’ve found it kind of…eh.


I was hoping that i could find some alternatives to approach this.
