944 Tris.
Looks very nice and original, maybe try adding some details to the handle.
The blade looks beautiful with this NormalMap, the handle is filled with a nice wood but it seems to rough to me. Adding some textures and a little bit more relief, like smoothing it, on will it makes very agreeable to see…
That’s a great polishing job, continue like this !
Looks great, original, a work of art! I must say!
for first sword its decent! and its very creative for a first sword keep it up!
A very good sword for something, in the Vikings Genre! Good Job!
It looks incredible. Seriously I’m not sure I believe that it’s your ‘first’ (I assume you mean your first attempt at a low poly mesh, not your first attempt at blender - then I’d be seriously stunned).
It looks optimised but 944 tris seems wayyy too many for that level of detail. I would assume the blade is many more tries than it needs to be, and the grip detail could be done with normal maps too if you wanted to optimise it further.
The image below shows the flat part of a similar blade which I’ve just laid out in blender, which is only 21 tris. From this I’d expect you could get the blade to less than 300 tris easily, maybe ever under 200. It might not seem like that much of an issue, and in all honesty it isn’t really, but you could get way smoother edges from 900+ tris if you wanted to.
It’s very nice, All I can say is the way it has so many cracks and stuff in it - it doesn’t look very appealing that way. I think less cracks and all that in the blade, and it should be fine.
I also think the handle needs to have a hand grip, and maybe make it a bit bigger. Big blade, small handle. HM! That’s all I can say. In all, 8/10 without those improvements, 10/10 with.
That’s… incredibly well done for a first sword. Way better than my first sword, at least. Its unique in an appealing way, looks like it has multiple functions and it has PBR textures.
