3D printed CSG model

Thought I might share this with you guys as I’m pretty proud of it.

So as a birthday present for my good friend Gaea, I wanted to create a doombucket necklace (since thats the hat she wears on roblox)

However, there was a problem. Roblox’s Doom bucket mesh is INSANELY broken. When I load it in Blender, a lot of polygons are exposed on the outside that shouldn’t be visible, and fixing the model would just be a huge pain + would probably cost me a lot to print.

So instead, I decided to build it using CSG :DDD

The model is basically the same, but its less complicated and works better with 3D printing. I was able to export this model as a .obj file, and I successfully got sculpteo to 3D print and ship it.
Although it hasn’t arrived at her house yet, she absolutely loves it

Here’s a hyperlinked image to the CSG mesh I actually made:

So yeah, just felt like sharing this haha. Hope you guys think its cool. I might use CSG to create other things using 3D printing as well.

Very cool! I really like this idea!
Now I just want to start 3D printing my planes.

People should start 3D printing their characters too, because that would be pretty awesome.

People already do this.
