No he would not. The name is diffrent. You cannot copyright words in a game name, thats like saying I make a game called Whos That Man and someone makes Whos That Person and calling it content theft.
Even if the idea is taken, It is still not infringing on IP unless specific assets From ERLC are used in the game, if assets are custom made it is all fine.
That’s not 100% true. Let’s say you make a paid game know as ‘911:Grape County,’ and it’s a somewhat successful game. Now, if someone comes along and makes a new game called ‘911:Banana County,’ which is a very similar game, but a different name and not the same assets, and that game is free, it would become very popular, and it would be stealing IP from the original game. That’s like saying I take roblox premium, and make something that’s free called roblox plus; It’s stealing IP. The game idea is fine, but if you are going to name the game similarly, then the game may not have the same purpose.
Another example is AFS (acceleration flight simulator). If I make a new game called de-acceleration Flight Simulator, with the same type of game, but not the same assets, it would still be infringing IP, because the new game is taking away all of the current users, plus all users who want to play the game but cannot afford it. If the ER:KC becomes big, it could make ER:LC struggle. A lot.
I dont think you understand what infringing on IP is. Using a simillar idea and taking away traffic from another simmilar game is not Infringing on Intellectual Property. Stealing assets, Names & Basically anything from the game is infringing in IP.
Multiple "Piggy"games exist and they are still up, meaning you can have simmilar ideas and be perfectly fine and in this case he would be perfectly fine.

So this game is only to attract people who cannot afford the original game. And let’s face it, lots of people want to be able to play the game. Look at the begging on the group wall. The point of the game should not be allowing people who want to play ER:LC play a free version that’s slightly different. It should be about an original topic.
