A 2d level that will make the player stuck

so i have a 2d platformer, and i need to make the player stuck to teach them to press r to reset, any ideas? this is a early level so nothing too complicated

Maybe just have them walk into a small room and have the other side close up in some way?

hmmm idk, i kinda want player to get themselves into that situation

How about they fall down somewhere and they CANT get out so they HAVE to reset?

Yeah I think that would work really well

its hard and very ugly, how do i make it better?

try adding a wood plank that snaps in half when the player touches it, and when they get stuck in the pit below it, tell them to press R to reset, and then (“optionally”) tell them to jump over the plank instead of walking on it
