I’ve been working on this for a few days, so far just an intro and main menu, but it’s mobile friendly and should look pretty good on any device.
That looks/sounds amazing!
I would suggest having the buttons pop and whatnot when you mouse over them though.
Thanks for the suggestion, when you say “pop” do you mean just a sound? That’d be pretty easy
doing any animations is out of the question though, it’d mess up all of my code that makes it scale to screens lol
That sound and an overlay that brightens the edges a little so it looks like it popped out even though it didn’t.
This is such a nice menu! Sound is inspiring and the graphics are on-point. Love the design sketching behind the loading bars.
That’s super awesome, love the style. I think the buttons should animate and press down whenever you click on them. Other than that it looks amazing. 10/10.
EDIT: Are these images original content, or used from something else? If they’re OC that’s incredible.
Woah, awesome! B) And yay, 8bit-themed and all! (custom cursor etc) - and the best thing: [b]A custom font[/b]!
With that bunch of textures you’ve got ready, I can’t wait to see the final result!
And as for Ethan’s idea, that’d be cool, yes. You possibly would like some utility already, making notifications, popups and stuff used in a varity of features.
This would be a lot better with “custom splash screens”, as suggested on another thread in RBXDev somewhere. ![]()
What about a tad of some livelihood on the background(s)? Like giving it a parallex-effect (moving mouse; as seen on github-error-404-pages or other websites!)
Thank you for the suggestions, your ideas will help me improve this to the best of my ability. As for the textures, they are both original content and copied from a project by Radiant Entertainment, Stonehearth, which I have been given access to.
I love it so far the graphics and everything is simply amazing ![]()
If only roblox allowed us to change the cursor look once its over a Button or an image button that’d make it even better.
– edit
In fact I’ll go make a post about it right now.
– edit 2: Documentation - Roblox Creator Hub Here ya go.
Thank you, but I’ve already got a thread about it in client feature requests.
What’s the resolution of the background images?
Oh. It is possible, but it’s some nasty hacks you need to do. [strike]Haha…ha…[/strike] trust me, it’s nasty. Recurse for GuiButtons, and check if the mouse position is within them - and whether they’re rotated, visible, and sort by ZIndex. All while hiding the real mouse cursor (UserInputService) and having an ImageLabel with the new custom mouse cursor.
I’ve attached a file for you to try out with - it only checks for clicking & hovering ClickDetectors.
You got permission from the Original author (In this case Radiant Entertaiment) to use there concept art / promotional related art (http://stonehearth.net/))
That is awesome if you really did so
I like the style that are trying to make. Keep it up !
@Kevin; You can do http://www.roblox.com/asset/?id=[id_of_asset] to download it (I can, not sure about everyone) - then you can just inspect the dimensions of the image.
