As cyberpiper and I work on this project, one priority that we both have is that the build must be as authentic as possible. Let me give you just one example. Just look at this image, can you see the large wall chimney at the side of the factory?
Well, that photograph was taken in 1910. When a second photograph came to light, from 1867 at a different angle, cyberpiper deleted the mesh factory exterior and rebuilt that part of the factory again, without the wall chimney. It was extra work but we both wanted to make the build as âmuseumâ quality as possible. (After all, you wouldnât want to walk into a local museum and find exhibits that werenât honest, would you!)
However, regarding the Easter Eggs: I must confess, these are not authentic to 1867. Iâm not going to spoil any gamersâ enjoyment in their subsequent discovery and so Iâll not give too much detail away. However, rest assured, inhabitants of 1867 Luxembourg did not receive âpower-upsâ when they stumbled across a hidden treasure chest somewhere. Those additions are solely placed for game play and enjoyment. I guess, sometimes, even we must deviate from the truth: we want our modern gamers (in 2019) to enjoy looking around an authentic reconstruction of the past!
Alright i see now, you really explained a lot here about the Luxembourg, city 1867 and how it looked. In 1867/1900 mainly how the factory looked, from a different angle however thank you! For answering the question i had i thought, it was a real thing in 1867 but it seems these. Are not authentic to 1867 Luxembourg. Anyways hope to see the final showcase in a few months, iâll be glad to visit again from time to time. Even when itâs still being worked on however! You both did very well on your 1867 showcase and once again thank, you for answering my questions.
It looks great! One thing though, the lighting is too bright or either too yellow. Factories of that time werenât exactly well lit. But other than that great build!
Thank you for your feedback, JoneTech. I appreciate your feedback about the lighting within the factory You are right; the interior is bright. It was a difficult task to get the lighting correct since the construction was built from mesh parts. When it was initially built, we had no lighting installed at all and we found that the interior was pitch black. What was happening was that the mesh interior, the mesh wooden beams, the mesh roof outside, the mesh roof inside and so on were blocking the path all of the light, so that it appeared totally black inside. In the end, I was forced to add gas lights to add some form of illumination but, even then, the interior remained virtually as black as before. The software was unable to detect which parts of the interior where solid and which parts were open space. The only workaround this was to disable shadows from the gaslights so that the light from the different sources could perpetrate through the mesh interior and illuminate the inside of the factory. I agree that the interior looks very bright - Iâll tone it down more. Thank you for your comment.
Yikes, CrazySnoopylove, the assets havenât loaded on your device - I havenât seen that before. Thatâs a shame. Were you using an unreliable WiFi connection, a mobile phone, iPad or perhaps a low graphics card? Or perhaps, just perhaps, the game just didnât load properly on the occasion that you visited. This is a view of the same shot as yours: what I see on my screen. Itâs a shame that you werenât able to experience the same effect on your device.
Letâs just say itâs not the best WiFi out there currently Iâm abroad and Iâm using my Laptop⌠and it have a GTX 1050 so itâs not a performance issue it probably is as you said then the WiFi
THANK GOD itâs not another UNION GLITCH THAN, I know that feeling way to well when Union glitchâŚ
Thanks for your reply CrazySnoopylove. Youâll have to remember to make a return visit to the game, upon your return from holiday, if you remain interested. Itâs a shame that you werenât able to experience the game, as intended. Anyway, enjoy the remaining few days/weeks of your holiday. I hope that you return refreshed, ready to immerse yourself back into your normal day-to-day routine.
Thank you Swinsor. I am pleased that you were able to visit the game. Iâm sorry that it isnât 100% completed yet and so there are empty spaces around, that we are currently working on. Even still, I hope you got a flavour of what we are trying to achieve.
