Ability to customise Roblox website themes without need of 3rd Parties

As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to find a way to customise the profile page & website theme without the need of 3rd party extensions.

If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my development experience because it would allow more customisation on the website.

I’m not a fan of extensions because some extensions can be used to compromise accounts & steal people’s robux and limiteds. I believe a lot of users would love to use custom themes on Roblox without extensions!

Recently Roblox changed the website theme colors. Colors went from the same theme we had for about 3 years to something new. While I personally don’t mind this change, and I like the new colors, I feel like the “purchase/buy” button shouldn’t be blue.

This new theme change, got me the idea, of suggesting more themes which users can set on their website!
Here’s some of the ideas I had:

  • Light theme
  • Dark theme
  • Automatic/System (would change based on the user’s current device, if they have night-mode on the theme would change based on that)
  • Classic (would add the classic 2013-2019 theme colors)
  • Dark Classic (the obc dark theme)
  • Custom (would allow the users to choose a main theme which they can change some colors for & add a background)

Main custom color which I would personally love to see change-able is the play/buy button, as I personally don’t see a reason for it to be blue

Another icon that could be changed by the change-able colors, is the verified checkmark on groups and users

I also believe that users should be able to customise their profile a little more, with such an update, allowing users to add a background to their profiles, similary to how old OBC users had the OBC theme applied to their profile if they chose to wear it.

For obvious reasons, I believe that the image on the background should be uploaded like a decal, by the user (similar to how UGC textures and meshes need to be uploaded by the item’s uploader) and then it’s id put in the settings, so it can go through Roblox’s moderation, to prevent users from using alts to bypass backgrounds, and the feature would also only be available to 13+ users, and not visible to those under 13, again to make sure users under 13 aren’t accidentally exposed to stuff Roblox doesn’t want to expose them to.

I’m pretty sure there’s more people out there with more ideas related to this, so I encourage others to leave feedback whenever this is a good or bad idea, and what other theme-related customisation options they’d like to see!
