Ability to ignore threads

Hi, I’m @RuizuKun_Dev!

Sometimes we finds ourselves reading very poorly written Threads, it could be a Portfolio, a Job post or even a Tutorial/Resource.

Sometimes it could be Duplicate threads, Old Threads, Old Announcements and such that are outdated and not relevant anymore.

While we can mute the Thread we cannot ignore it, which still shows up in Suggested Topics and while Searching.

It’d be better if we can ignore Threads so we don’t have to see them again to improve UX and Discoverability of useful Threads.

You can flag the Thread but It’s better to have immediate control over what you see.

Muting the User might be too much as they might be able to contribute something useful to the community one day.

Let me know if I have to put this on Discourse Meta or you can go ahead and do me the favor

May I suggest you propose that muted topics don’t show up in suggested topics?

This is much easier (1 like) as opposed to creating a new notification level.

Which ever method the Web devs want to deliver this feature, just give us the ability to ignore threads.

What you suggested is valid, It make sense that a muted thread should be ignored, not showing up on Suggested topics but it’s not that way already.

We also need ignored threads to not show up in search

Is this not what the “Muted” thread notification level does?

Edit: never mind, gave it a second read (apparently 1 isn’t enough). Yeah you might wanna request at meta.discourse.org. Old announcements probably won’t resurface anyway
