British Columbia, abbreviated BC or B.C., is a roleplay community consisting of a government and a wide range of departments and private businesses which you can get involved with.
Unlike many popular games, all roles in B.C. have to be applied for or earned (for instance, through elections for government). You can’t just join a Roblox group or attend a regularly-hosted training to become a police officer.
What is B.C.?
British Columbia is a province in Canada. Our community is a roleplay recreation of that real-world province, including government and agencies like police or fire services, as well as businesses (plus fictional ones community members can create). The capital city of British Columbia is Victoria, which is the setting for our main game.
Victoria is the hub of B.C. and provides a roleplay game for our members and people outside our community to play. Victoria is currently in Alpha, so it’s incomplete with a lot missing, and will have updates to improve it. Currently, there’s a strong focus on police officers and criminals, and that’ll always be the core of our game; but future updates will add more functionality.
We strive for realism, but to a practical level. We take what’s called dramatic licence and liberties to make sure our game and community provide an engaging experience for everyone.
Our community has a 13+ age minimum and generally is aimed at more mature audiences, but it’s very diverse and has people from a range of age groups, genders, and nationalities. You don’t need to be Canadian to join!
Getting involved
Becoming a resident
Firstly, you need to join the B.C. Roblox group.
We have an automated bot that checks join requests every 30 minutes. You’ll be accepted, unless your account is too new or has too little activity. We can’t help you if the bot rejects your join request unfortunately.
Once you’ve been accepted into the group, you can attempt the Residency Quiz to become a Resident. Residency is needed to apply for roles, but you don’t need it to join our community server (below).
Our community server
Our community is built around a popular online communications platform. You can join the community server by clicking on the platform’s logo on our game or group pages.
Once you’re in the community server, take a look at the #verification
channel (and, of course, make sure to read #server-rules
).
Afterwards, you’ll unlock full access to the server, where you can find key information on our community or ask questions in the general chat.
