Absolutely no choice over muting or unmuting categories?

This is getting (sorta) annoying. It seems that the mute toggle on categories is just cosmetic, as when I mute or unmute a category, it becomes that way for a few hours, and then it just swaps back to the default settings.
This keeps on happening, here are examples:

  • When Moderation Review Requests was a thing, it was muted by default. I always unmuted the category to even be able to find it, but tomorrow I check and boom, it’s back in my muted categories. Tried unmuting it about 5 different times, it ALWAYS switched back to “Muted”. There is no point in unmuting, as it always becomes muted.
  • Recently, I have muted a certain Announcement sub-category, as I am not interested in announcements from that category. Guess what setting I find it on? Unmuted. It just unmuted without my permission.

Is this a bug, or are you trying to force a notification setting for categories for everyone?

Moderation Review is now gone. But this also happens with announcement sub-categories. I literally just can NOT mute/unmute these categories? Why? A bug or a forced setting?

Looks like a bug, because it happens occasionally with #platform-feedback:mobile-features, #platform-feedback:mobile-bugs, #platform-feedback:xbox-features, and #platform-feedback:xbox-bugs which I have muted, but they get unmuted.

I think this only applies to subcategories because I have #development-discussion muted for a while now and it hasn’t gotten unmuted for me.

I have no issues with any categories staying muted (like #platform-feedback:xbox-bugs and #help-and-feedback:cool-creations) on Firefox. What browser are you on? (Also, does the same stuff happen on https://meta.discourse.org where they might be able to address this easier?)

Firefox 80.0.1 (latest), using DevForum+, but I have had issues (un)muting even without the extension.

Have you tried to uninstall the plugin and just run on a clean slate?

Krunnie, I have already said that I have had problems even without the extension.
