I have a custom rig that need shoes attached to it. Ill go through how i do it step by step.
- Create an “accessory” in the startercharacter (i rename it to “leftshoe” etc)
- Add a part and rename it “handle” then position it to the limb i’ll be attaching the accessory to, in this case the lower leg.
- Add the correlated attachement which would be “LeftKneeAttachment” (attaching the shoe to the foots ankle aligns it completely below the foot)
- Add weld constraints for every part the model has
Part0 to handle and part1 to the part’s model (my names might be off as im not currently on studio hut you get the idea) - Before actually doing the constraints i then take the model and place it in the “accessory”
- Sometimes the accessory automatically adds an “accessoryweld” but in this case, it does not. So i have to manually add it in, once i do the shoe then completely aligns somewhere else (as seen in picture) and the attachment no longer matches that of the lower legs attachment. (Yes i manually make sure the attachments are in the same position, with the same name, that doesnt help.) i’ve tried doing this countless times, re-aligning everything and it keeps on doing the same thing.
I’d like to point out that attaching hairs, hats and clothes have worked completely fine. It seems like the shoes keep persisting with this problem.
