So recently I saw someone who had there account banned, because of this I decided to check out the URL that you get when your account is banned to see what it would send me to (completely expecting it to just re-direct me to the home page as I do not have a banned account). For some reason however it comes up with a page stating that my account is “Banned for 1 Day” even though it is not. Although it does not effect me, it should re-direct someone to the home page if they are not banned on the platform.
The URL is Roblox . I tested this bug on a brand new account, however it does not seem to cause the same thing (and also by old Roblox account which also just re-directs me to the home page as expected). From my knowledge I don’t think I have ever had any moderation action taken against my account, so I am unsure why it shows up when I go to this URL.
This does not affect my account it seems and allows me to go on any page, it is just when you type the URL in the search bar.
All comment information together for internal bug report (addition info):
Seems to be visual bug and only effects some people (may not be able to reproduce by going to the URL due to this)
Bug may be caused if you have past moderation action taken against an account (I asked someone to go to the URL and they told me that they get the last moderation action that was taken against there account)
Image showing what my friend saw when they went on the URL:
I’ve had many warnings in the past (mostly false) as well as a (false) week ban once, but those were all a very long time ago, and in turn the not-approved page doesn’t actually show up for me/it redirects to the homepage.
I can only assume that either this bug has been fixed within the past 2 hours or if your warn/ban was long enough ago it will no longer show up.
This bug definitely is/was a real issue though as I do remember finding it a loooooooong time ago by accident so I can confirm the existence of the bug
My old account was banned once for exploiting (falsely I should add) but it does not show up for that account.
What I don’t understand is that from what I can remember is that it claims I was banned for exploiting even though I don’t ever remember being banned on this account (or have any moderation history on this account).
I’ve found that at least personally this only occurs for bans that were voided (and not removed via the ‘accept’ button) and not warnings
Previously had this happen to me and filed a bug report but because of how bug-support is so agriociously slow if you give a report at the ‘wrong time’ it was never adressed, nice to see that it’s going to be adressed now though.
I’d like to add the extra info that you have been (for a while now) able to see the last moderation action on your account by the not approved URL.
As far as I know, you can still view moderation actions that were rolled back, e.g,
A false ban wave I received on my account in 2020 that was properly rolled back by customer support. It also appears this URL has a limit for how far it can display the last moderation action you have, since it is redirecting me to the homepage on one of my oldest Roblox accounts that I certainly recall has been correctly banned for dumb things I did as a child back then. I think enough information has been provided already but I hope the engineers keep this though, I think would be a funny reflection of our actions if it stayed
I agree, from looking at what people have said it seems like it is past moderation actions that have been reverted. This may possibly be why I never remember being banned or something if the punishment was reverted before I knew or something.
Just wondering if there is any updates in regards to this bug. Only reason I ask is due to it being 3-4 months ago it was said it would be taken care of.
Not a urgent bug just thought I would see if there is any status of it.
