I’m reaching out to respectfully request a final review and escalation regarding a ban placed on a Roblox account linked to my email, which was suspended for having the name “jehad128”
We have contacted Roblox support five times already and have only received generic responses. The latest replies state that the appeal cannot be addressed because it was submitted after 30 days, despite the fact that:
The ban is based solely on the username “jehad128”, which is a common, real name in many cultures, especially Arabic-speaking ones.
The name was not used in a harmful or offensive way.
Many users with similar names still exist on the platform with no issues.
This rule of a 30-day appeal deadline does not make sense when the moderation action is based on a cultural misunderstanding. If the ban was made in error, the timing of the appeal shouldn’t matter more than the truth and fairness of the case.
Roblox promotes itself as a platform for inclusion and diversity, but this ban feels like an example of cultural bias. My child has done nothing wrong and simply used their real name, respectfully.
We are simply asking for a human moderator to re-check the case fairly. We are willing to verify the account and provide any other required details.
Please escalate this matter. It is deeply unfair to be permanently banned for having a real name — especially when Roblox allows many others with similar names.
Appeal, state that you’ve had the username for however many years with zero malicious intent behind it, and would like to appeal the ban/get a chance to use a new name.
You are surprisingly likely to get unbanned (a welcome change from the usual outcome for false bans) and get a free name change on the house, as names can become inappropriate long after they’ve been made
(my previous name was cpguy5089 which is obviously not the best sounding name these days, I had a similar case where I got a termination and name reset, but my appeal was accepted in a day and I just had to provide a new username I’d like)
(For what it’s worth, I get the impression a mod interpreted your name as a bypass/misspelling of “jihad” and obviously they’d wanna get rid of usernames like that - the termination is just a safety thing, as mentioned above it should be easy enough to appeal and get it reset considering your name is otherwise normal)
Have you contacted roblox support yet? The support team might be absolutely useless sometimes but it is the only option you have. Ask for a username change and along with it explain how “jehad” is your real name.
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, the ban went unnoticed, and it’s now been over 30 days since it happened, which is causing complications. The Roblox moderators keep saying they can’t do anything about it, which is why I decided to post it in the forums.
The account was active for 7 years without a single warning or ban. It wasn’t banned simply for being a real name. It was banned because Roblox appears to have flagged the word “Jehad” as not permitted.
If the name truly violated the rules, it should not have been allowed at account creation and used without issue for so many years. This ban seems to be the result of a misunderstanding, not an actual rule violation.
Did you accidentally click on a potentially malicious link? A virus could have caused your Roblox account to be banned for this strange reason.
Could the username have been reported by someone? This could also cause Roblox to ban the account, as Roblox sometimes makes strange decisions.
Keep trying to contact Roblox Support and perhaps refer to this topic here on the Developer Forum.
Roblox Support is often very difficult to contact and simply not helpful (I’m sorry to say it, but it’s true). You’re not the first case of Roblox banning players for seemingly no reason (or the wrong reason). Still, I’m sure this will be resolved.

Unfortunately, Roblox Support hasn’t been helpful at all. They often take around a week just to respond, and when they do, they just repeat the same message saying they can’t do anything because it’s been over 30 days. It’s really frustrating.
Yes, that’s correct. I’ve been trying to get the account unbanned for over a year now. I contacted support multiple times but eventually gave up because their replies were always slow (usually taking about a week) and unhelpful.
Now I’m trying again, hoping to finally get a clear response from a moderator here on the forums.
This ban doesn’t seem fair. Do you think you might’ve fallen victim to a DSA or a Mass-Report? I don’t see why Roblox would see this user as inappropriate out of nowhere, even if your user real name is part of your name. Ask for a username change, which usually works with such cases. Don’t be too frustrated: I got unbanned 2 months after getting falsely terminated. Maybe a staff member will look into this situation and prevent such cases from happening in the future.

I’ve provided all the details, including proof and similar cases that were resolved, yet there has been complete silence.
