I am submitting a report regarding the termination of my Roblox account and the ongoing confusion surrounding the reasons provided for the action.
Recently, my account was terminated for “unauthorized use of intellectual property rights.” However, after reaching out to Roblox for clarification, I received no further details regarding which intellectual property I allegedly violated. This lack of context has left me confused and uncertain about the reason for the termination, especially considering none of my games or UGC items have been taken down.
What makes the situation even more unclear is that when I contacted the appeal team, they provided a completely different reason for the termination, citing “cheating & exploits,” which is something I have never engaged in. The inconsistency in the responses is deeply frustrating.
Details of Communication:
- Termination Notice: The reason given for the termination was “unauthorized use of intellectual property rights,” but I was not informed of which specific creation was at fault or who made the claim.
- Appeal Response: After submitting an appeal, the response I received claimed the ban was due to “cheating & exploits,” which does not align with the original moderation note or any of my actions.
- No Prior Warning: I did not receive any email notification or specific warning regarding intellectual property violation prior to my account termination. I woke up to find my account mysteriously terminated without any explanation.
Request for Clarification:
I am requesting clarification on the following:
- Which specific intellectual property infringement led to my account termination?
- Why was the reason provided by the appeal team (“cheating & exploits”) different from the original moderation note (“IP infringement”)?
- What evidence or details led to this decision?
- Why was I not given a clear and detailed explanation of the termination before or after it happened?
Not only is copyright manager refusing to tell me what IP I allegedly infringed on. Roblox appeals is also giving me an entirely different reason for my termination completely opposite to what my ban note had said. Roblox also usually gives you an email when your striked for Ip infringement giving details however I did not receive such email.
This experience has been extremely frustrating, as the lack of transparency and the contradictory responses from Roblox moderation has made it difficult to understand what went wrong. I hope that Roblox can provide more clarity and take appropriate action to resolve the issue. This is obviously a bug or mishap in the moderation as I’ve been given no exact reason.
