Achieving Images

I want to archive a couple of images I uploaded via bulk upload in studio, but no button to do it.

Where is the option to archive images / decals?

You can’t directly archive “Image” assets, but you can archive Decals. Archiving a Decal will also archive the Image that is associated with it. EDIT: Seems like the 3-dot menu over all asset types (besides Images) in the Creator Dashboard is currently missing, making it impossible to archive anything. This is definitely a bug.

I don’t think you can directly archive images unless they have been created as a decal meaning system generated images like thumbnails don’t have a archive button mostlikely. I guess roblox just forgot to add one maybe

I am guessing you can archive those images with Roblox Support as you cannot archive them normally

However, i don’t know if this works because roblox support has not completed my requests for months

Roblox support cannot manually archive images for you. I tried before.

Oh that’s kinda stupid. Not being able to archive images even when requested doesn’t make any sense because archiving decals allows you to archive the same image aswell so i don’t get why roblox does this

If I had to guess, it’s because you could use this to “delete” clothing textures, which would break existing clothing items.

Yes, you can archive clothing, but this doesn’t make the underlying assets inaccessible, as is the case with archiving Decals. It just hides the item from the website, and previous owners can still wear the item, but non-owners can’t view the item themselves.

Still wish this was somehow possible, because if you have an Image asset that isn’t connected to a Decal/MeshPart, it’s impossible to archive it.

Funny thing you can already kinda do that because if roblox for whatever reason only moderates the image of the 2D clothing then the pants/shirts/t-shirt is still up but with a content deleted preview and it also doesn’t work. I am guessing this is not intended to happen but roblox did this a few times to me before and i had to appeal the clothing image to roblox

I just wish archiving system generated images would be possible because you can litterally do nothing when you know you have previously uploaded like a copyrighted thumbnail and someone targets you or their moderation picks it up
