Action Logging?

Hello! Recently my game has been getting more players, and I’ve decided that I should incorporate action logs into it. I’ve spent a bit of time researching the different ways I can log player actions, what to look out for, what not to do, and etc. I’ve contemplated on using Discord, GameAnalytics and Trello for logging, but I do not wish to risk my discord account, and trello seems pretty messy to use as a logging platform. (I feel as though it was not created for that.) I have a couple questions for anyone who is willing to answer.

1. Are there any good free/cheap platforms I can use for logging when lets say for example, someone buys something from the shop, and if so, how would I incorporate it into my game?

2. I’ve noticed that there is the GDPR. Would I be affected by the GDPR by logging (for example) what user’s spend their in-game money on? If so, what can I do about it?

Any help would be appreciated.

This post shows a great way to do this. GameAnalytics is awesome to use, I highly recommend it.

You can study the API and create your own system, but this is a great resource.

Is there anything I should be worried about concerning GDPR?

GameAnalyst came out with an FAQ about this very topic:

When someone signs up to Roblox, they agree that their activity will be monitored on the platform through accepting the terms of use. This includes the digital consent of developer’s games because legally all of our games are being housed within the Roblox corporation. As far as I know, there have been no legitimate legality-based complaints about individual developers collecting data on Roblox, but if this evolves into a bigger problem then Roblox will be sure to let its developers know.

For now, you should not be concerned about GDPR.
