I quoted a sentence, if you read the quote and my reply it should make sense that I’m not referring to the privating of almost all audios.
mostly about seeing if it is worth quitting roblox for this platform
as a programmer I dont think so (yet)
I’m just gonna step away from this thread from now on. I feel like arguing here is a waste of time.
Only time will tell of what Roblox will do about this.
I need to make it completely apparent that my feedback has almost nothing to do with the privacy part of this update. I’m expressing delight in being able to access more professional libraries without needing to go through the hassle of licensing myself which is in itself an arduous process.
Although I have my respective agreements (if there’s any way to prevent asset theft on the platform, doing it at the asset-level is a huge step forward) and disagreements (it’s unfortunate that most experiences will be missing sounds due to this), I don’t have any well-structured feedback to offer so I’m not going to load my post up with unsubstantiated anger. Other posts offer good constructive feedback against this update that you can support instead.
tl;dr I’m excited about more access to professional sounds, development accessibility and hoping for improved contact with moderation to resolve conflicts with audio moderation. People need to stop replying to my post suggesting that I’m saying anything more than this.
My account’s audios not playing on my group game is in no way intended behavior, I spent a lot of robux for that, because it was functioning as intended.
its shows for me…
I’ve heard that Cryengine can be used in C#, C++ and Lua, but I’m not sure. You should try it out
5 days. How tho. i though it’s Monthly.
i dont know it just showing that for me
Just make audios to b e free, but don’t remove them a lot of developers that used someone’s audios will have to work on their own audio.
ouch.
Deleted all audio for my game to show how all games will sound in just a few days. This is unacceptable.
You forgot one powerful tool people have - Pitch.
People could just bypass the detection by speeding up the audio/pitching it up to something like 4x, and then pitching it down in games. It’s possible right now, even with bypasses.
Also if the audio is in offsale, make a feature like make it won’t work because it’s offsale… and same as adding choice making private or public.
by making public this audio, you’re liable when this audio got sued, not roblox itself.
TLDR:
Just Speaking Bout this.
I’d say this was handled quite alright but it could be done better.
10 uploads per month is a big underestimation of just how much developers would need it right now. I would recommend that the limit would be bumped to 30-50.
If the staff does not want to do that, atleast remove the limit for the rest of the deadline to ensure that developers would replace all of their audios before march 22 as uploads are much need due to the short deadline this change has.
you may tell me to just verify my age but I refuse to give my actual information to a company that has a notoriously bad moderation.
no offense to moderators, but you guys really could do better (taking to account that if you guys had better moderation for copyrighted content, this wouldnt have happened in the first place.)
Why is this privacy update so damn important? Roblox staff are like a middle aged man with OCD wiping the whole counter just because of 2 breadcrumbs. I’m so done with this garbage corporation, daniel the tax evader can lovingly kiss my rear end.
I’m wondering does audio toolbox still going to be available?
Yes, But all of the UGC Audio (Aka, All of the GOOD audio) is completely missing.
Except for sound effects shorter than 6 seconds, But still. Practically 90% of it, is gone.
Sorry to break this to you but that tells you almost nothing. The current situation in Ukraine is making stocks everywhere wonky.
Let’s look at AT&T for instance:

4pm Mar 9:

Current stock price:
Don’t think AT&T stock would be affected by Roblox’s update. Neither are the investors. This update is not affecting stock prices. Not saying the update is great, but it’s not the “downfall of Roblox” like everyone thinks it is.
