looking at their API, I already kind of see something I dont like
theres AIActivity
and AIActivityHandler
I really really really REALLY dont like the idea of handlers for already established classes
it just irks me
I feel like core wont be replacing roblox anytime soon due to how new they are
I need to make it completely apparent that my feedback has almost nothing to do with the privacy part of this update. Iām expressing delight in being able to access more professional libraries without needing to go through the hassle of licensing myself which is in itself an arduous process.
Although I have my respective agreements (if thereās any way to prevent asset theft on the platform, doing it at the asset-level is a huge step forward) and disagreements (itās unfortunate that most experiences will be missing sounds due to this), I donāt have any well-structured feedback to offer so Iām not going to load my post up with unsubstantiated anger. Other posts offer good constructive feedback against this update that you can support instead.
tl;dr Iām excited about more access to professional sounds, development accessibility and hoping for improved contact with moderation to resolve conflicts with audio moderation. People need to stop replying to my post suggesting that Iām saying anything more than this.
My accountās audios not playing on my group game is in no way intended behavior, I spent a lot of robux for that, because it was functioning as intended.
People could just bypass the detection by speeding up the audio/pitching it up to something like 4x, and then pitching it down in games. Itās possible right now, even with bypasses.
Also if the audio is in offsale, make a feature like make it wonāt work because itās offsaleā¦ and same as adding choice making private or public.
by making public this audio, youāre liable when this audio got sued, not roblox itself.
Iād say this was handled quite alright but it could be done better.
10 uploads per month is a big underestimation of just how much developers would need it right now. I would recommend that the limit would be bumped to 30-50.
If the staff does not want to do that, atleast remove the limit for the rest of the deadline to ensure that developers would replace all of their audios before march 22 as uploads are much need due to the short deadline this change has.
you may tell me to just verify my age but I refuse to give my actual information to a company that has a notoriously bad moderation.
no offense to moderators, but you guys really could do better (taking to account that if you guys had better moderation for copyrighted content, this wouldnt have happened in the first place.)
Why is this privacy update so damn important? Roblox staff are like a middle aged man with OCD wiping the whole counter just because of 2 breadcrumbs. Iām so done with this garbage corporation, daniel the tax evader can lovingly kiss my rear end.
