ROBLOX, this update is… TERRIBLE.
Earlier, even if you haven’t any robux, you can find audios for your games.
Earlier, no limits for audios uploading existed.
Now you create another Diffirence between people which don’t want verify their age with their own documents, and people which verified it.
Also you ruin almost all games which was maked with free audios.
Now, 99% assets from toolbox, which was used audios (Ex. guns, bombs) will be broken.
You break 100% of Radio and Boombox gamepasses.

As great of an update as this is, I do fear the effects that it will have on older games will be major. With many veteran accounts no longer using the platform, older games will more than likely loose their charm without the audio. Even if the games are broken, at least we were able to remember the good times listening to their audio (if they had any). I hope that this update recieves some changed, other than that it’s pretty good to about copyright issues.
I have some games that use more than a hundred music used from the marketplace uploaded by various users. Does that mean my games will lose all of the marketplace music?
Am I allowed to upload any music from YouTube (ex. NCS) just for my game? Or will get warned/banned for doing this?
I need any representative to answer my questions since these new changes are critical to my games, not just giving me predictions. Thanks.
I also see that the creator of “Welcome to Bloxburg” Is offering us compensation if we bought the gamepass. We can choose from the following: +40,000 Money +2,000 “BlockBux” or 3 months neighborhood access. Pretty good deal ngl!
True, True. I still would like songs from OTHER artists than monstercat. But here is the downside… I don’t enjoy EDM music. Maybe roblox could reach out to a different recording company as well?
NCS music shuold be fine, as I have heard their music in game a lot before. You shuoldn’t have any issue with uploading their music. Just be sure to give proper credit somewhere in you game.
Okay so this isn’t as bad as it sounds. Free audio uploading is great, and the ability to at least unprivate audios that undergo this change is a good solution. The majority of UGC sound effects should transfer over fine, at least.
The problem here is music. There are a lot of tracks used in Roblox games that are made by others, whether they are copyrighted or not. If creators who’ve released their music on the platform didn’t want others to use it, then they would have already privated it themselves. I only see this breaking games that thought the Roblox Audio library was there to be used as an audio library. Which is all of them.
This is common knowledge! If you’re uploading Audio, you’re volentarily adding to Roblox’s free audio library. Why should we be pushed towards using a propriatary one, or uploading our own?
You know this has gotten out of hand when someone makes a Change.org petition over this update. Hopefully ROBLOX responds to it in some way if it reaches its goal.
There avoiding us because of the backlash. I mean yes, this is a ##### update, but its not they had a choice, but they could have handles this a lot better. Hell I even gave some better ways to do so.
@tnavarts Do you know if audios owned by a group will function in an individual’s game? Similarly to how animations and models can be used in individual’s games as long as the user has asset permissions in a group.
