Imagine all the audios you have to replace

I used the audio plugin and it showed me, I replaced 18.

I personally like Monstercat stuff…

This is what many games will look like after the update on Tuesday, since due to the amount of replies I don’t believe a lot of developers are willing to handle it.

Still annoyed about this update but I’m even more pissed when I found out that all the money I spent for Audio gamepasses and to upload audio is not gone. We ALL better get a full refund

Hmm, that actually wouldn’t be a bad idea to implement on the Roblox platform. Roblox charges robux, DevExes it, then gives the producers part of the money earned?

I actually just so happened to make my own version as well

Its been a WEEK and Roblox still hasn’t responded which I find outrageous.

I would take paid audio over this change ANY day.

Why won’t Roblox listen to our feedback?? They should at least acknowledge the fact that everyone hates this.

Smh. What would make a 13+ roblox game on the platform? I don’t understand Roblox’s reasoning behind this.

@tnavarts Will old (pre-2013) audios uploaded by Roblox but private still continue to work? The plugin says it will still work but I worry that it won’t because they are private, not public. One example audio is this: backgroundSong1 - Roblox

Well, since its the official Roblox account maybe? I honestly don’t know tbh

Roblox owned sounds that are currently private will continue to work (and likely be changed to public as well though that will take a while thanks to the manual work required cleaning up their names and descriptions).

I have to replace 56 with only 10 audio uploads per month. And that’s just for one game.

You could transfer the game to group ownership. (Or if it is already a group game and you are in a position that can manage ranks then good for you) then make new accounts at a rate of 1 per every 10 audios you need to upload then put each account into the group and rank them with permissions to upload group assets. Do the uploading through the accounts and assuming all the audios pass moderation fine then you should be golden. I know it is a pain to have to keep logging out and in to switch accounts but at the end of the day as long as it works then it should be fine.

Am I the only one who thing Roblox should provide Some compensation if the update actually comes out?

Isn’t making alts and putting them in your group against TOS? My friend made like 2 to try and re upload audio, but got a 3 day ban. Try this at your own cost :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

As far as I can remember alt accounts themselves are not against TOS. Unless they have been changed recently.

Roblox I think you need more sound effects in your collection, since every keyword I type just ends up being a song for some reason. The only sound effects that I can find are 2006 sound effects, but those are also hard to find. Please release more sound effects with this update.

I work on a group game. This change has been a hassle for me.

My experience dealing with these upcoming changes:

  1. I must reupload audio associated to my profile used in a group game. Some of these audios where uploaded 5 years ago. I no longer have a few of these audios on my machine. This is a problem.

  2. Audio uploaded by a profile can be played immediately by the uploader regardless of the pending status (A great time saver!). But pending audio uploaded to a group can’t be played immediately by the uploader. This greatly slows down my workflow for I’ve been waiting 30 minutes for a single audio to finish pending. (still waiting)

  3. Audio uploaded to an inactive team member’s profile will be impossible to recover.

My conclusion:

I believe we need two things before March 22nd.

  • The ability to set an audio asset to public. (Fixing problems # 1)
  • All audio uploaded before March 22nd is set to public. (Fixing problem # 1 and 3. This would also preserve older games and remove this extra work of reuploading which many here don’t have the ability due to the 10 uploads per month)

Until having this ability, Its likely the game I work on will have missing audio for an uncertain and unsettling amount of time.
