hey @BossSpax quick question here - when you say see commits for the whole game, do you mean the ability to see script commit events across ALL places within an experience?
Activity History in Studio is available once you save your place to Roblox. We need to be able to track the experience and place id to be able to log events.
@RaterixRGL can you tell me more about your âmember on probationâ scenario? is this a contractor or someone new to the team? Would these members have Edit access to a place?
We expect that Activity History in Studio is useful for everyone with Edit access to a place. Weâd like to learn more about what events you want to lock down and why. Feel free to DM me if you have more details!
We currently have the event for âshut down all serversâ in Activity History we want to onboard the âmigrate to latest updateâ event as well.
script history already exists if you right click on a script
If only this had the addition of checking members on a team create who added items through the toolbox. A lot of people get their accounts banned because of some untrusted individuals in a team create adding bypassed things.
Other than that, great addition.
Just donât give the studio access to your real game to untrusted members, or even to anyone else.
Many roles do not require collaboration with other developers, such as animators, modelers, and sound designers. Only a few exceptions such as frontend scripters + UI designers, and the builders team (level designers + environment artists, etc.) need to collaborate together. This collaboration can be done using a shared baseplate, and you can create an alternative group owned by an alternative account in case you donât trust them.
Does this also apply for shutting down specific servers, and does changing settings relating to private servers also get logged?
Can someone elaborate on this point?
like 4 or 5 years in Roblox Studio and I didnt know this
If we are able to have logs for when a collaborator joins and leaves a team create session would be great too.
These logs really help and are important to have in many applications.
Great that the icons in front of the change also visually show what has actually been modified and I hope for all of the upcoming events in this history menu the icons get adjusted as well so you can quickly see with a symbol where the change has been made.
Ok this is going to be useful but what happened to that house??
One thing can be important, that is to track script/code changes.
If possible, it would be a great addition to this update.
Because when working in teams, it would be easy to get to know the scripters about what they are doing.
Will make it easy to track if a hired scripter is doing his/her job right.
Very good update! So useful for keeping track of whatâs happening during development
10/10 = awesome update = cool update will help a lot to see what they are building!
Someone was invited to edit and exploded it, but thanks to that history they became aware of it and saved the game .
i dont think ive ever even had a single use case for it
Iâve used it to stop griefing or to help undo corruption caused by crashes
Thanks to the Roblox team! Now i can know whos messing up my games all the time, oh i love working with people
