As a Roblox user, I always wanted to see a list of users of their birthday or when they made their account on the website so I could message them a happy birthday through a PM on the website like a normal user would do or possibly hang out with them in games as a nice and close friend.
Normally, users have to join a game or message a friend saying “It’s my birthday! :D” and anyone in the server would say Happy Birthday! or CAKE. While that is nice and all but most users also have to go onto discord or on twitter to tweet or message an announcement saying it’s their birthday, but I would rather have a page where you can view users’ birthday or anniversary of that specific user.
^ Also there will be a Cake emoji or icon next to their username on the website and in-game so users can see whose birthday it is anywhere!
The Developer Forums has the same system in place that shows a list of users birthdays and anniversary of when they joined the forums which is neat in my opinion.
Here’s an image/example of what it could look like on the website:
If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my experience on the website because I can make people’s day by playing a game with them or wishing them a happy birthday anytime, and the user can have a very great birthday that they will remember.
I don’t think a list would be a viable option for 100M+ monthly users, it’s still very long on the DevForum, so imagine the entire platform.
But, regarding this, it’d be cool if Roblox can have a little animation or video (auto-generated of course) every anniversary/birthday. Facebook does this with birthdays and, although I don’t use it, I know I’d feel pretty warm to be acknowledged like that even if it’s a computer. Basically, they show you several pictures in billboard (or some other creative incorporation) you uploaded and some birthday-theme text in between. It’s essentially a reflection of the days since your last birthday/anniversary.
If an adult social media as these birthday cards, then heck yes kids would want them. Instead of pictures, they can maybe be games you played the most/liked/favorited. It is a relatively simple creation that would go a long way to (semi-personally) acknowledging players’ important days on the platform. Although it’d be completely procedural, it will however increase players’ bonds with Roblox in a way and make it seem less like there is 0 connection between the two.
Would have replied earlier ago but didn’t feel like it, now I want to.
^ I guess it could be the same on the platform if I recall correctly.
Then with the feature that I requested that could be on the website (if it does), then you can have a setting or option to disable/enabled if you want your birthday/anniversary to pop-up or show on your profile or on the page. It’s pretty much up to the user if they want their birthday to be visible to everyone or not.
