As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to gradually phase out VIP Servers. Currently, VIP Servers have two options: either enabled or disabled. Disabling VIP Servers completely bars anyone from using them, including people who bought them and still have an active subscription period.
Disabling VIP Servers like that is a huge waste of Robux for people who bought them and a huge headache for developers. If a developer were to do that, they would be faced with an angry community and would have to issue refunds. This is made harder by the fact that developers have no list of people who bought VIP Servers.
If a developer wants to get rid of VIP Servers without ripping people off, they would have to set the price to an insanely high amount to effectively stop anybody from buying any more VIP Servers. This can send the wrong message to players, even if disclaimers are given in the game description and in-game.
I propose that toggling off the ‘Allow VIP Servers’ checkbox in Configure Place gradually phases out VIP Servers instead of just straight up disabling them. This would prevent new VIP Server purchases, cancel all subscriptions, and allow people with active VIP Servers to continue using them until their period is over.
