Along with a notification, I’d be great if we got a say in certain things before we’re surprised with a new change and we all start “complaining” (what they call it, but I like to call it “feedback that never gets listened to”).
Major changes to the forum will still continue to get posted to the Community category. Trivial updates don’t really require an announcement, that’s more of a courtesy.
If I did have to speak on the matter though, as a person who values information I probably would like to be notified of any forum changes regardless (mini-thread, locked, for trivial changes works too). They help for when I’m doing editing and I’m not sure if I’m editing to updated standards or not.
I didn’t recognise, until this post, that the category topic had also been changed from discussing the art of development on Roblox to anything related to development. Although this doesn’t quite change the criteria for moving posts to a more fitting category or flagging them, it makes a bit of a difference in that I don’t send a larger exodus of threads out of the category.
The first one is a Discourse update, just follow the Discourse changelog to find out about those. Roblox teams don’t really look too deep into what changes exactly throughout Discourse versions, so they wouldn’t make an announcement on that.
