As a Roblox Developer, it is often frustrating to write #bug-reports on the Developer Forum when using a mouse that features page forward/backward buttons without repeatedly inadvertently erasing one’s bug report. I myself have accidentally done this at least 13 times, and at least twice decided to put off reporting a bug altogether for an extended timeframe as a result of the frustration I felt.
There’s two possible direct solutions I can see to this issue:
-
Make draft bug reports autosave. I have a feeling that, due to the nature of how Discourse works, such an approach may prove difficult to implement, although it would be nearly ideal as an end user.
-
Add a confirmation pop-up stating that data entered into the fields in the Bug Wizard will not be retained if the user navigates off the page, providing a layer of protection against inadvertent Mouse4/Mouse5 button presses erasing bug reports.
