Add Data Saver mode to reduce high internet usage

As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to high internet usage which mainly comes from media I get, as I typically come to threads with a lot of media, and the internet usage is too high

If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my experience using the forum because I am able to use the forum without too much internet usage

I really don’t see a problem with having higher internet usage. If you’re router sucks then build your own.

i mainly use my PC and iPad for the devforums (though these options you showed doesn’t remove media from websites)

“if you’re router sucks then build your own” that’s not possible for me as im not an engineer of wiring and such

also none of these remove media, and they just prevent certain built-in features that are unrelated to media

Some people may have limited data, and the low data mode thing you’ve shown seems to be a System Setting in iOS which doesn’t affect pages in Safari or any other browser I assume. Also on Android, a data saver option isn’t available on some phones.

I’m lucky enough to be getting unlimited 5G data on my provider for £6.79 a month, but I do personally experience slow speeds on my provider, and therefore, a feature like what’s being suggested would be good… apart from the fact that I don’t see this even happening. I’ve seen speedtests of AT&T 5G in the past, which honestly is worse than 2G speeds in the best case scenario.

I don’t think they were necessarily intending for people to build their own, just to buy another router.

MSN dial-up does still exist in the US btw, which is 56kbps. I know you wouldn’t be playing Roblox if you’re on that technology, but I just wanted to point it out.

To be fair, if you’re on limited data, I don’t think browsing devforum is the best idea…
Also, unless I’m remembering it wrong, some browsers have a data saver option built-in, like Opera Mini.

I don’t think every browser has that support, for example I’m using Edge, and there’s no data saver option from what I’ve seen.

Luckily, there’s a built in advertisement blocker though.

Either way, DevForum is relatively light to load as it is already anyways.

most of these browsers aren’t supported by discourse unfortunately

@GamersInternational well, I do agree with you but… buying another one can be expensive
