It would be nice to be able to link to my Github page through this panel.

And soundcloud and deviantart

Deviantart allows some adult material, so I’m not sure if ROBLOX would approve of that (may loose their KidSafe Rating). Likewise with SoundCloud, it’s essentially bypassing ROBLOX’s own music moderation

At this time with ROBLOX going nuts with the Community Sift implementation, I doubt they’ll be vetting new social media sites to add any time soon.

I think the concern with GitHub is that it would allow malicious people to easily get someone to download a program that could steal their account.

That would only be an issue if they allowed links to release pages. Roblox only allows direct links to user profiles/channels, so the threat level would be no worse than twitter/twitch/etc.

Both of these points apply to the existing social networks.

Community Sift is not related to this FR

My point isn’t really about Community Sift, but about how ROBLOX has been stepping up on its content moderation aspect on the site. It’s safe to assume this will extend in scope to external sites.

Why would that be a safe assumption to make? What we know is that they cracked down on existing policies regarding on-site content. Anything beyond that is just pointless gossip.

I don’t think its pointless myself, however good point. I hope a staff member will clarify later on in this thread.
