Add Hand/Arm Category To Catalog

The Issue
As it currently stands, there is no specific category for handheld items in the catalog. With the advent of UGC, creators have uploaded layered clothing that functions as handheld items (see below). This, however, comes at the sacrifice of interfering with other layered clothing. By addressing this issue, users would be able to access and wear their desired items without having to sacrifice their other clothing items.

Sacrificing
Most commonly, handheld items take the shirt slot of layered clothing. This causes an issue, as users are no longer able to wear shirts due to the shirt slot being taken by the handheld item. As a result, users are forced to choose between wearing a shirt or a handheld item, which is an unnecessary sacrifice.

Clutter
Additionally, due to there being no category for handheld items, finding those items has become a burden. To find them in the catalog, users must search for a variety of terms such as, “handheld,” “hand item,” “holdable,” and “hand.” As a result of all these different search prompts, users may miss out on certain items they would otherwise like to purchase. Even when prompting these searches, there are various irrelevant items that appear alongside the desired ones.

I don’t think only handheld items should be singled out, because there’s much more that people are doing with layered clothing.

There really needs to be some kind of category for any miscellaneous layered accessories, preferably with a way to transfer existing assets to.
The layered clothing catalog is kind of becoming a mess right now.

A lot of recent layered “clothing” items are either 1.0-exclusive items, handheld objects, or just other things that aren’t even clothes, all scattered throughout many different misleading category names.

People have also been making shoes, but incorrectly categorizing them as shirts or pants, because Roblox still hasn’t enabled real shoe assets for UGC creation after almost an entire year.

Trying to find any of these items requires you to sift through every single layered clothing category, and it’s making the categories a misleading mess as well. If you go to “Shirts” then you’ll see a bunch of shoes, plushies, weapons, and even leashed pets.

I’m not trying to call out any UGC creators for doing this; it’s just that Roblox should adjust the catalog to properly support these items, because it’s honestly just kind of a mess right now.

Want to reiterate the importance of more categories for bodysuits as well. There’s a huge array of UGC layered clothing and accessories that don’t fit into the existing categories that is rapidly getting larger. Roblox needs to introduce more granular categories for these now before UGC access opens to more people, and before the task to retroactively correct everything is impossible.
