Add support for update information to plugins

As a plugin developer, to communicate new updates to users, we either have to change the description of the plugin, or to make some sort of pop-up letting people know what’s changed.

I’m proposing that we have a new feature similar to the games update feature that would allow you to list updates.

You’d be able to put in a version number, and various bullet points for what’s changed, e.g.:

What’s new in [versionnumber]

  • [bulletpoint1]
  • [bulletpoint2]

Which could become:

What’s new in 3.0.devforum

  • We added the ability to insert floppy disks, enjoy inserting 20 floppy disks to do something
  • This updates log is purely an example

This could be shown on the manage plugins menu instead of showing a plugins description, and it could also be shown on the website.

Roblox can’t do this… before adding a way to actually tell the user the plugin needs to be updated first. They don’t even tell you the plugin needs to be updated in the first place.

But I would like this feature. I’d imagine a dropdown button with the text “What’s new” next to the update button.
