I’m trying to make armor for players and NPCs. (Focusing on NPCs now)
I’m not sure quite how to go about attaching them, below is a image of what I’m going for, I’m adding a cape, shoulder pads and helmet. (Helmet is a model)
I’ve looked at many videos on YouTube to add accessories and they seem to work with accessories but since my models are made through blender and the studio it’s not as simple of a fix.
Try copying an accessory from the character, change the mesh, and setting the weld.Part1 to the left arm
Take the models name them Handle, put them into different accessories, then change the placement and rotation of them and it should work. Also another way is to use WeldContraints.
Using a bit of math, and WeldConstraint | Documentation - Roblox Creator Hub you can easilly attach any model/models to a player, I’d recommend turning off mass incase that may cause any trouble… or you could make them accessorys if you plan to resize players, just make sure you copy the format of other accessorys with values so they resize properly!
I’m surprised the weld tool worked so flawlessly for the NPCs, however now I’m coming to the issue of placement of the model. Usually I use the position tab to move parts, however I can’t do that with models to place the hat on the character. I could just eye ball it…
